Steven G. Chipman was born in Maryland, and studied Fine Art at the Maryland College of Art & Design and the Atlanta College of Art. While pursuing a career outside the arts, Steven was pulled back to drawing by a desire for a creative outlet. His work with colored pencil and graphite portraits has proven to fit the bill, as he has created dozens of works in the short time he has returned to the medium, each more satisfying than the last.
Steven hopes to continue growing and developing as an artist, while expanding his reach to create portraits for those who find and enjoy his work via his web site.
He currently lives in Northern Virginia outside of Washington, D.C. with his daughter and son.
