I’ve been playing a game on my iPad called Draw Something – it’s surprisingly fun and has held my interest for a couple of weeks now. It’s also rekindled my interest in drawing, so double-win.

Hey, look at that – a month exactly since I last worked on this one. It’s been a busy month full of things that keep me away from drawing.

I like the way this one is shaping up – I hadn’t been too happy with it when I last worked on it, so maybe a substantial if involuntary break was what it needed.

I’ve significantly decreased the shadows in an effort to make her feel softer … I was worried I about to make her look like an old man. The top of her head still needs a lot of modeling as it looks a bit indented at the moment. I also want to get the right side of the face as we look at it a bit rounder with better value transitions. All in all, though – coming along. The next update should be the finished piece. Or maybe the one after that.
