Most of the major elements of the figure are blocked in now – clearly they need some refinement but I think its working so far.

It occurs to me that I haven’t the slightest notion of how to tackle the lake part of this drawing… my brief experiments with it thus far have not been fruitful.

Here’s a really awful photo of the abysmal progress I made over lunch. The hair I am pleased with for the most part, but I foresee a ball of masking tape in my immediate future to pull up much of the pigment I’ve put down for the shirt.

We took the kids up to our family’s long-time favorite vacation spot for the first time over the weekend. My wife took some wonderful photos of our daughter playing in the surf at the lake, so naturally I’m turning one of them into a drawing.
