What a cutie!! The hat adds to the adorableness of the painting.
Do you cut the pastelbord yourself? I’ve tried to do that, but it doesn’t work well for me. I end up ruining it. The surface that I draw on ends up flaking off in the area where I cut it. Do you have any tips???
Yep, I cut it myself. I score it on both sides with a *very* sharp carpet knife and then snap it. The edges still end up very slightly flakey, though – but that tends to be ok since they get covered by the mat when framed.
That said however, I’ve long been giving some consideration to purchasing a bandsaw to cut it.
Now, let me tell you this is my grandson, Maccabee, and the drawing looks amazing… The character, the pose, even the face expression is captured so precisely. I still can’t believe this piece of art could be done with a few pencils… Thank You, Steve, ’tis absolutely precious.
