    Great finish Steve. Your portraits are always wonderful. I’m envious.

    This will be one to embarrass her with in front of the boyfriends in the future. (Parents always need secret ammunition :) )

    Beautiful artwork. That’s a tough expression to capture.

    Wow, what a great portrait Steve!!!

    I have to ask, what colors do you use on lips??? I’m trying to do a portrait for fun on pastelbord (my first of pastelbord), and I’m having a terrible time getting the lips right, especially the shaded areas.

    @Terry – thanks!

    @Nancy – Lips are easily my weakest portion of a portrait. I always feel like the colors aren’t quite right, but – in this particular one I used Blush Pink, Nectar, White, Beige and Crimson Lake (which I have been using a lot more lately over Scarlet Lake to keep shadows warm). There might be some Dark Green in there too.

    Interesting list of colors there Steve! I have to say, I would never thought of using half of them. Still, I like the colors you achieve better than mine, and I still have the lips to do on my soldier, so I thought I’d ask. Thanks!

    If you’re interested, back in February I posted my entire palette: http://sgchipman.com/blog/?p=56

    I think the only additions since then are Nectar, Crimson Lake and Light Sky Blue.
