I thought it would be fun to participate in this month’s virtual sketch date, so here’s the beginnings of my piece based on the reference image.

I also second Katherine Tyrrell’s suggestion in the comment thread (no permalinks for comments, blogspot?) to create a Flickr group for this.

That pear looks like you cut out a picture and stuck it on the paper. It looks very real, I think it almost looks like it’s popping out of the drawing.

Thanks Katia! I’m pleased so far – I’ve not really drawn fruit before, so i wasn’t terribly sure how this was going to go.

Steve, it’s a sketch date…you’ve got a polished piece there…:D…and it’s lovely! As for the VSD…Jeanette, Stacy and I are discussing how best to handle it. We’ve had a volunteer offer to set up the Flickr group, so we may do it next month. This month is really busy for the three of us so we just took the easy road this month.

You can have a permalink for comments in blogspot – but you do have to activate it – which probably explains its absence
