I picked up a Daylight Easel Lamp to make photographing my work easier after the sun’s gone down. However, its less akin to daylight than it is a fluorescent fish tank lamp. It produces a cold, blue light that has a drastic effect on the colors in my work. I wouldn’t use it for a final photo of a finished piece, but for in-progress shots that can be warmed up a bit in photoshop, it does the job.
That said, here’s moderate progress on Rachel under the harsh blue light.

I bought a daylight bulb, mainly for matching thread colours in textile work and I also found it too blue – now I find a white flourescent gives a better result!
Excellent work so far, looking forward to seeing the final result. Loved your previous piece. Don’t know which impressed me most, the eyes, the mouth or those little fat fingers!

Thanks Kay!
I’ll have to find a white replacement light, then. Thanks for the tip!
